Selena Gomez has surpassed Kylie Jenner as the most followed woman on Instagram. As of Saturday
February 25 2023, Gomez has more than 383 million followers, while Jenner has more than 380 million.
Gomez is fourth behind soccer superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi and her own Instagram account, according to social media tracking website Social Blade.
Despite the action, the “Only Murders in the Building” star took to social media to take a break.
“I’m taking a moment off social media because it’s a bit silly and I’m 30, I’m too old for that. But I love you so much and I will see you sooner or later. I’m just taking a break from everything,” Gomez said Thursday in a TikTok Live video shared by fans.
Her accounts are active, but she hasn’t posted anything since Thursday.

This is not the first time she has taken a break from social media. In a recent Vanity Fair article, the former Disney star discussed how she outsources her social media accounts to an assistant because of nasty comments.
“People can call me ugly or stupid and I’m like “Whatever. But these people are detailed. They write songs that are so precise and wicked. I would cry constantly. I was constantly worried… I couldn’t take it anymore. It was a waste of time,” she said.
However, he told the outlet that he only had TikTok on his phone because he found it “less hateful.”
